Standard Dairy Consultants has appointed Idaho resident and longtime dairy industry leader Tyler Stratman as Northwest Regional Business Manager and his mission is clear: strengthen relationships with producers and support a seasoned team of consultants.

JEROME, Idaho (October 14, 2025) — If dairy conversations ever felt like they were missing a translator, Tyler Stratman might be just what this space needed. With a unique combination of dairy production competence, business strategy, and leadership acumen, Stratman has stepped into the role of Northwest Regional Business Manager at Standard Dairy Consultants.

Drawing on more than a decade of experience, Stratman steps into this role ready to support a team of nutrition consultants and strengthen relationships with producers across the Pacific Northwest.

For Stratman, the decision to take on a new role wasn’t about prestige—it was about fit.

“I wanted to be part of a team that values excellence and collaboration. To me, that’s what makes Standard Dairy Consultants stand out,” he said.

Colleagues and producers who have worked with Stratman describe him as a steady, solutions-oriented leader who listens first and acts with clarity. That grounding, combined with his professional experience, makes him known for helping teams and producers turn complex challenges into practical, results-driven solutions—an approach he now brings to the 139-year-old company.

A Proven Leader in Dairy

Some dairy business leaders come from nutrition labs while others’ career paths look more like a bridge connecting science, sales, and strategy. Stratman falls into the latter category—bringing a holistic view of the dairy business that connects technical know-how with operational results and a practical respect for the agricultural lifestyle.

Stratman holds a Master of Science in Reproductive Physiology from the University of Missouri-Columbia and an MBA from Boise State University. He is also currently pursuing a Master of Accountancy from Auburn University.

His early career took him into consulting at Genex Cooperative. Then in 2016 he joined Zoetis as a Dairy Production Specialist; by 2021, he was leading as Area Business Manager–Dairy across the Northwest.

Since 2023, Tyler has expanded his expertise by founding Herd Nerd Analytics, a consulting business focused on dairy data integrity and analysis. He also brings experience in financial management through leadership roles at various veterinary and animal care businesses.

“Tyler has an extensive background in dairy, data, and leadership” explained Vern Foster, President of Standard Dairy Consultants. “His track record of marrying technical insight with strategy makes him a perfect fit for how we want to serve producers and support our nutrition consultants in the Northwest. He’s an exciting addition to the Standard Dairy Consultants team.”

Guided by Listening, Grounded in Service

A longtime resident of Kimberly, Idaho, Stratman brings a deep understanding of the Northwest dairy market and the producers who shape it. His familiarity with the terrain, its challenges, and many of the producers who also call the region home adds valuable context to his leadership.

In his new role, Stratman leads a team of several seasoned nutrition consultants, each with an average of 20 years of experience. He says he aims to foster an environment built on high standards, collaboration, and accountability—guided by a philosophy that prioritizes listening, empowering others, and delivering on commitments.

“I believe teams excel when leadership is less about control and more about clearing paths for talented people to do their best work,” said Stratman.

Looking forward, Stratman is committed to ensuring consultants and producers alike have the tools, trust and support they need to succeed together.

As he puts it, “The dairy industry is evolving quickly. Producers don’t need more noise; they need clarity. My goal is to help our consultants and clients focus on what really moves the needle.”
